440 forum posts 132 photos | Thanks for the pics Brian. Interesting that your cross slide screw is Whitworth. My pre-war Faircut has a square thread here. The saddle has a brass/bronze/gunmetal (not sure which) insert carrying the female thread. If ever I can figure out how it's held in then I might have a go at making a new insert for mine.
