They might be in for a hard time in my area, green marks have appeared all over the pavements, and cabling for Virgin is being laid only a few streets away. I might get more than 8mbits in the near future. Edited By old mart on 10/09/2019 16:41:10 |

![]() 1688 forum posts 16 photos | Had problems recently with my Sky email, couldn’t send or download on my IPhone, IPad or IMac, their website indicated that yet again some passwords had been compromised and there was problems with some customers accessing their emails. Eventually I got through on the phone and was passed from dept to dept and was told that the service would resume but be patient. Surprisingly a few minutes after my call everything returned to normal, I am usually very cynical and obviously thought there was a connection with my conversation with them but it seems to be becoming a habit with Sky, the same scenario occurred only a few weeks previously. It would seem that they are currently suffering cyber attacks which are affecting customers accounts. Dave W |

Edited By old mart on 10/09/2019 16:41:10 I live in the middle of a large town and in a cul-de-sac many years ago when the fibre cables were being laid they went straight across the bottom of the road without bringing any service into the cul-de-sac so firbre broadband will never happen for me H

4655 forum posts 304 photos | Those green marks have matured into Virgin Media fibre optic and they fitted me up last Friday. Its goodbye to Sky after about fifteen years. When I called to cancel the Sky package, I was offered all sorts of upgrades and 50% off my bills, but it was too late, my mind was made up. Now I can record six programs at once, the phone number will revert to the old one in a couple of weeks and the internet speed is faster. Did I say the internet is faster, yes, 30 times as fast, I checked with OOKLA and it was 223Mbit down and 20Mbit up. More than I will ever need. I tried downloading Windows 10 64 bit which is just under 5 gigabytes and it completed in under three minutes. |
