6 forum posts | Hi I have made myself a very similar setup to the one shown. My problem is that with my setup I cannot speed it up beyond it's min RPM, it just stalls the motor. My setup is as follows - Sieg mini mill Motor - ZHENG - ZGB37RG148 12V rpm:30 Controller - MFA - 919D2P Panel Mounted Variable Speed Regulator I have tried loosing off the gib, changing the motor for another one, but as soon as I try to speed up the rate of the table the motor stalls. With the table disconnected I have full control of low and high speed on the motor. I can only surmise that my motor/gearbox is wrong for this setup, can you suggest one that will fix this problem? 912 forum posts 40 photos | It doesn't sound like a mechanical problem Fred, otherwise the motor would not turn on minimum power. If the motor will operate at the lowest power setting but not when you turn it up, it could be that either the power supply is insufficient or that under load the motor draws more than the 5 Amp limit of the controller. Perhaps try putting an ammeter into the supply? Brian |

Sorry, I thought you meant it would turn the screw at minimum power but not when you turned the power up. Brian

2292 forum posts 159 photos | Try monitoring the voltage from the power supply. I suspect the power supply may be shutting down with the increased load when the speed controller is turned up. You could also try connecting the motor directly to the 12 volt supply. Les. |

893 forum posts | It would appear that your power supply isn't adequate for the job. Try direct running using a 12 volt car battery just to really establish that it's not the motor. John |
