29 forum posts 8 photos | This is a very long ongoing project for me (about 40 years I am frequently reminded) and I am about to start piping the boiler and engine etc. Today I dropped the boiler into position and screwed all the boiler fittings in for the first time together with to optional feed water heater. Now that everything is in its relative position in the cab I find that the Regulator handle crashes into the steering wheel and that the water outlet from the feedwater heater crashes into the top fitting for the water gauge. Has anyone else had these problems or have I got my dimensions badly wrong?

![]() 500 forum posts 31 photos | Quite a few folk (including me) have omitted the feed-water heater as it causes more problems than it solves. My steering wheel is fine relative to the regulator. Are your boiler feet set too low? Or is the steering column a tad short? |
