Myford workshop Manual

Just wondering if anyone can point me to where I can find a workshop manual for the ML4?

Just for a reference so I know how much I have missing from my latest project.

i have looked on there already Brian, possibly missed it? Looking for a strip down parts identification reference guide. If there is such a thing?

There never was one, only document was an sales/operating manual covering the ML1-4 lathes. Download available from several sources.

The ML 1-4 series were fairly simple machines and to people with some mechanical sympathy do not present a great challenge. For anyone with little mechanical experience then the basic don’t force it or hit it rules should be applied, there is little on most machines that requires great force but if things are being difficult then seek advice on where and how much force needs to be applied or where the hidden bolt is.

If you join the Myfordlathes group on Yahoo Groups, go to the FILES section and you will find a folder called ML4. There is a factory owners manual in there. Very slow to download so have patience.

Thanks Chris, I find it amazing that even Myford don't have such a document when even Clarke do. Just got the manual from Yahoo thanks Hopper. It's a start but I will have to search out some gear photos for a complete picture of how it all fits together properly. I'm interested to find out if I have all the parts required for a fully working ML4. Mike I am certainly challenged, but I just put my 2lb hammer back down again. I will just have shares in WD40 instead.

I made a copy of my late father's manual for his ML 4. For some tedious compatibility reason I can no longer post photos or text in the albums, but if you would like a copy I can send it to your email address.
