![]() 231 forum posts 53 photos | I have a Super 7 with a QCTP. As I only have three tool holders I would like to purchase more. The only mark on the tool holders or toolpost is a stamped W on the back of each tool holder. Does anyone know who makes these, or would any Dickson-style tool holder fit, such as those supplied by Myford or RDG? Many thanks, Mike

![]() 1243 forum posts 202 photos | Mike, the W on the toolholder's indicates they are original Myford Dickson manufacture, some of the clones fit fairly well but none are as good as the originals. The best you will get are Bison form Rotagrip the S00 size is the correct one but they are pricy ! Most of the regular suppliers offer clones and at much lower prices. Regards John PS there was a firm called A & R Precision making them in the UK excellent quality but they disappeared-- however I would recommend you go to the forum search and just put in Dickson lots of info comes up Edited By JohnF on 18/02/2019 22:57:03 |

18 forum posts | Hi Mike, I recently purchased a QCTP from Myfords and the toolholders came with the W or upside down M stamped on them so they may be what you are looking for. Regards Reg

I believe one of the big dealers bought up, or had them make up, a large stock of toolholders which they then sold themselves for half as much again as A & R were originally selling them for. However, you generally get what you pay for so I'd look for second hand "W" toolholders if in doubt or funds are tight. Wonky threads and machine screws made out of cheese are not unusual on the cheap ones and don't always fit as well as they should do. |

1025 forum posts 204 photos | I got some holders from RDG last year. Very happy with then and they fit the Original QCTP bodies that I have. I have 2 genuine and one clone. The RDG holders fit all 3 tool post blocks. Not super cheap, but I consider buying them was better than me setting to and making them. These RDG holders are way better than the clones, and are very repeatable. Lucky I only have 3 clone holders in total, so are set on tools that I use occasionally. I just went to the RDG site, but the holders I got last year I do not see them now. Neil
