please help I have 2x Sandvik conomant tgtr-12AM hr179,1-1919AM this tool is right hand triangle insert top clamp and sbpl-12 vl174,2-1919am this tool is left hand square insert top clamp searched internet but found on ebay but not in Sandvik catalogue just need inserts pete

TBH, you'd need to be looking in a museum, as they haven't made featureless inserts like this for decades. Also, they aren't very hobby-friendly due to the negative top rake, which was all they could manage when inserts had a flat top and you needed front clearance.

Save your money and get a modern tool with proper chipbreaker geometry, modern composition and coating. Put that in a display cabinet instead.

Its the reason i gave nearly all my Sandvik away 8 years ago they make it too hard to decipher bog standard tip profiles used by other quality producers.

They have their own part numbers which only translates to Sandvik. Rest assured the tips that will go in them (10's of profiles and grades) are off the shelf and still current meant for aluminiums and non ferrous.

Will find various other tips will go in but may have a through hole.
