![]() 370 forum posts 65 photos | I want to make a tangential type tool holder. Do I need to worry overmuch about the steel type I use? If there is a 'best' option I would rather use it particularly if it gives me experience machining something other than 'bright mild' or EN1A. |

470 forum posts 177 photos | I have made 50 different tangential tool holders from very mild and cheap scrap steel. It is the modulus of elasticity that is important and that is more or less the same for all kind of steel.
