![]() 215 forum posts 51 photos | Having learned a lesson about correct sequence of operation of the tumbler gears, I have my new tufnol gear waiting to be fitted.... Question is how do you remove the tumbler lever to replace the gear? I see an inclined grub screw with locking nut behind the pivot lever. Is this holding it in place? Any other advice you have on the subject also welcome. Cheers, Colin |

3681 forum posts 70 photos | Yes the inclined grub does retain the shaft, When refitting do not overtighten, it should be screwed in until the point where it "just" retains the shaft such that the clearance of the tumbler lever to headstock is minimal but not firm. Pin bearing the tumbler gear is pressed in place. |
