50 forum posts 35 photos | I've been helping a friend out to get his Mk2 Cortina sorted out as he said he was going to show it at a classic car rally on Sunday. He asked if I would like to go with him. 'Too true!' I said, 'Where is it?' 'Abergavenny' he said. I looked it up on the 'web' and found that it wasn't just a 'classic car' event, but a full blown steam rally complete with models, traction engines, motor cycles and even shire horses! Plus a load more attractions. Woohoo! Can't wait. Taking a wheelbarrow full of cash 'just in case'!!! If anyone is near there and doesn't know about it, here's the site.http://www.abergavennysteamrally.co.uk/index.php Roll on Sunday! (It's also on Monday) Colin. |

50 forum posts 35 photos | A great show and a wonderful day, both weather wise and socially. Well worth the effort of getting up at 5:30 and making the trip! A bit of good humoured haggling to get some well used, but still serviceable, tools from the many stands. One thing that did make me happy was the amount of youngsters, boys and girls, that were driving and maintaining the the different types of steam engines around the show. A pleasure to see. I have put some photo's in my album if anyone wishes to have a look a some of the exhibits on show. Colin. |
