| 474 forum posts 202 photos | I had two of these, and a mate hadn't heard of them, so i said they're a bit crude but great for rapid local heating.. and said he could have one . I took a wee 90 amp inverter welder ( weighs nothing , and i wasn't moving the Oxford ! ) with me to show him how it worked . One rod got far hotter than the other , but it worked. When i broke the arc , the one rod was glowing yellow hot . Thinking about it was that because it was a DC welder ? |

| 2878 forum posts 248 photos | I don't know, but what do you do with those Oxford welders. Built like the proverbial and so heavy. I still have one tucked away in my cousins garage, not used for 15 years. I only use MIG these days. |

| 166 forum posts | I remember rebuilding the whole front end of a mates car with a carbon arc, not just the wings but the box sections as well. |
