2 forum posts | As per my introductory post, I am the Company Secretary of the Robey Trust in Tavistock..... We play with full sized steam engines, trying to keep steam engineering heritage alive... We have a growing historical collection of items that are manufactured by Robey & Co. Ltd of Lincoln... 7 road vehicles (although 2 are under restoration at present), plus around 36 stationary engines. The Trust was founded 33 years ago (not by me... I was born that year!), starting with a Tandem Roller found in the local playground.... It grew from there, the founder researching and acquiring more and more engines... I don't think he ever anticipated it growing in to what it is now.... To say that this is an enjoyable hobby is an understatement.... I absolutely love it... The collection we have is World Class and one of the few in the world that centre around ONE make of manufacture. |

![]() 6956 forum posts 229 photos | Tavistock is kind of a long way from Lincoln. Which end is the collection or is it distributed? I recall seeing a portable engine, possibly a Robey at a steam museum about 20 years ago, possibly the Dingles museum before it turned into a fairground museum. |
