893 forum posts | My friend has a "comeup" DV9000 12 volt battery powered winch. Some one has removed all the very large heavy duty cables and the copper links. The control of the 4.6 hp motor is via two cylindrical solenoids together with a remote controller. I have contacted an agent they site H&S etc so no joy there and nothing on the inter net either. This winch appears to be capable of haul up the beach a small fishing boat, not a trawler. The motor is in as new condition, 4 pole and two sets of brushes and 3 terminals. I would like to know how connect the wiring loom without forcing things. Has any one any knowledge of this winch, if so please contact me.John |

7227 forum posts 21 photos | This is pure guess work, but possibly one of the solenoids feeds battery power to the motor to run in one direction; whilst the other solenoid feed power to the motor to run in the opposite direction. Being a 12 volt DC motor, I would expect the motor connections from the contacts of each solenoid (Relay) to be just a mirror image of each other. Pressing the "Forward" button energises one solenoid, pressing the "Reverse" button energises the other, probably with a common negative feed to both coils. The Relays would each have double pole normally open contacts, (one for + and the other for -) to feed the motor. As I said, pure guess work on my part.
