46 forum posts 13 photos | I am trying to soft solder brass to stainless steel with a high temperature plumbers solder. The problem is that it will not take to the stainless steel, I have took the oxide off the stainless so its clean, but I am using paste flux, the stuff for low temperature solder. Bakers fluid No 3 I have been informed is not the flux to use, any suggestions on this please |

340 forum posts 30 photos | During the great copper tube shortage late 70s early 80s we used stainless tube. We had to use an acid flux to solder up the brass and copper fittings. I guess you should be able to pick up a pot at a good heating\plumbers merchants. |
