![]() 158 forum posts 107 photos 1 articles | For those of you who didn't see my question about making steel half round beading, I have now made approx. 6 metres of 6mm beading and will at some point in the not too distant future need to bend it round some fairly tight radii. the cab roof is easiest at 46mm, cab windows 18mm and cab side handles 15mm. I propose to make some bobbins shaped like a hat with half the beading radius turned between the brim and the stove pipe part. I'll upload some pictures of what I mean. I think they will need to be two of them fixed to something to get the window opening right though. Any thoughts anyone? Edited By Steve Addy on 03/02/2016 15:21:43 |

The other option which would work except for where the bead forms the handles is to machine up a bit of steel "tube" with a 6mm wall to the required diameter, radius the end and then part off a 3mm width. This will give you four corners once cut into 4 and you can then butt the straight lengths upto the corners. Edited By JasonB on 03/02/2016 16:12:20 |
