Old/Broken/Damaged fencing Foils Needed

1129 forum posts 1 photos	Hi All, Just an off chance some one may be able to help me here! I need at least one, preferably 3, old blades from fencing foil swords; don't need the handles just the tip back as far as possible but at least 650mm. These are the perfect taper & section for me to remake into the missing bow parts of some bow drills that I have. Sorry if this should be in the WANTED section but was not sure. Regards, Martin

1129 forum posts 1 photos	Hi Jason, Would be interested to see any pics of the ones you made. The ones I have are antique and of tapered square section with blacksmithed curled ends an dhardwood turned handles. I have several all missing this bit or that and need to get them back in shape, mostly new front ends and taper chucks. Bows have always been a problem but a friend rightly pointed out that the section of a fencing foil would be perfect. Regards, Martin

2032 forum posts 41 photos	Ahh..if you wish a particular "look" then the wire wouldn't be for you... My bows used five strands...and "tapered" by using shorter lengths... to achive the tillering of the bow.... Ie five three one... Also tried flat to round shaping...five holes in line....bound to round at a distance.... Also made limbs from spring steel (suspension)..shoot poorly...wrong sort of speed curve..for long bow..
