209 forum posts 7 photos | The zero-set dials on a Bridgeport have a really nice bright-yet-matte silver plating. I'm pretty sure the base metal of the dial is steel. Does anyone know what type of plating it is?

![]() 2156 forum posts | You are right the base is steel. They are "Satin Chromed" to give the nice non glare and long lasting finish. |
