Scratch built beam engine.

129 forum posts 18 photos | This is my finished beam engine built from bar stock and various recycled bits. The flywheel is machined from an old line drive pulley. The extra bit of linkage on the valve operating mechanism is to delay the valve opening till the piston has reached the end of its travel. This idea works very well and it will run very slowly if desired. Flywheel diameter is 8'', height is 14'', bore is 1'' and stroke is 2 1/2 ''. Mike
