Duncan. I meant to say bottom not top, other than the boring bar holder i have , does have a ridge in the bottom.

Although it might be better to make a new dedicated holder from scratch. I have some steel block over from the last ones i made.

The idea of not cutting it down & having a holder with a hole through probably be the best option.

It will give me chance to get some more experience with the mill. The last ones i made were a little bit large on the dovetails & the handle comes too far round. So more care this time round.

You need to keep the Tizit bar flat horizontal while milling the bottom down to fit in your holders. This is to retain the correct angle of the insert when viewed from the end of the tool. It should dip slightly.

Yes i did that. All went well, but i may have to remove a bit from the side as well. It does not sit well in respect of the holding screws.
