External surface finish could have been a little smoother but I think that is one of the problems with airset as they don't seem to sieve any fine sand on first and just ram it up in one thick layer which can leave the sand surface a bit porous so the iron replicates that. These are the bits from my patterns

![]() 613 forum posts 817 photos | That is a great looking set of castings. Turned out very well. You can improve the surface finish if you can get them to spray on a layer of ceramic mold coat. It is generally alcohol-based, so you spray it on and then burn off the wet part. Works wonders for surface finish. Great job. I can't get at the FB stuff, so be sure to keep us up to date here. . |
