226 forum posts 17 photos | If using brake cleaner to remove whatever, I suggest that it should be followed up with acetone. Brake cleaner leaves behind a thin layer of hydrocarbons, which could interfere with bonding. Acetone doesn't, or much less so. Professional engineer Dan Gelbart says that mechanical abrasion is the best surface prep...done with sandblasting, but also with Ajax, Comet, etc. cleaners in the cardboard can. |
