Hi, I have a 2 to 3 step up one that I have used on my Boxford for larger drills that can't be used in the 2MT tailstock. But the thing is, knowing the limitations of such use and basically not trying to push it through too fast. haven't had any problems thus far, but it's not a regular occurrence and I don't expect to drill double the size hole, about 1-3/8" in a piece of cast iron is as big that I have done.

Regards Nick.

I knew the photo would cause excitment and instant advice. In fact my extension sleeve is used very occasionally to give an extra 15-20mm reach, typically for a small centre drill, and with the tailstock barrel almost fully retracted. So the net extra extension is very little, but in my case valuable for this particular circumstance.

...........in the wrong hands............

At a quick glance there's nothing wrong with my hands, apart from a few minor cuts. But those are inevitable when manhandling large sheet metal parts on and off the mill.
