13 forum posts 2 photos | hi Barrie, I was sort of joking since I thought it was monstrously big (although looking really nice). There was another posting today which was also sort of tempting but it's just a mill, an old Emco FB2 and not CNC although I suppose one could convert it: **LINK** I seem to remember reading round columns had some disadvantages compared to rectangular column mills; alignment after moving, maybe rigidity, etc. That would be interesting to see the titanium machining pics. randy

13 forum posts 2 photos | hi Barrie, That looks nice, particularly the edges all look very clean. It interesting to hear the steps involved too. In case you tried to look at the link I sent last night, it's already broken/gone. It was for a nice Schaublin lathe with tons of accessories and cutting tools for ~$500, which probably was worth more like $2-5k.

13 forum posts 2 photos | hi Barrie, You mentioned wanting a Wabeco 6000 CNC. I just found one for sale in Germany. I can send you the link if you're interested. They don't list a price but who knows, maybe it is good. randy |
