Coupla points:

I doubt that 512 MB of RAM is actually enough for 11 tabs so it's likely offloading to the disk cache. There have also been reports on recent FF versions that the RAM space is not always being fully released.

Vivaldi is earning itself a nice reputation for privacy and security. I've been trying it a bit recently and you can import FF settings and, in fact, pretty much set it up to look like your FF installation.

Another thing that can be instructive in terms of speed is to find a relatively safe (malware wise) site ..... this one would probably do .... and turn off your virus scanner pro-tem.
