![]() 2929 forum posts 41 photos | The GM 2 stroke diesels I worked on were double supercharged, with an Exhaust turbine feeding the Rootes blower> I think 24lb pressure was quoted. As said, air was pushed through the cylinder ports at bdc and exhaust was done by 4 valves. Injectors were cam operated and had rack operation to open and close, I had one run away and had to kick off an umbilical fuel connection. The rack operating rod cut into the palm of my hand. As to the Saab two strokes the later one had three carburreters, one for each cylinder and I saw on Carlson rally car it peaked at 9000 rpm. I am not sure how they injected the oil into the engine but it must have gone through the crankcase. Thereby stands a tale, balked by Bhoringers Merc. stuck in the mud, Carlson jumped out and rolled the Saab over and righted it and drove on. That Kenya Safari was won by a local Volvo, an old one.
