Thread: Chester lathe help

Hi,

The usual culprit for this would be the Shear pin.

Let me know if I can help any further, just PM me.

All the best,

Thread: Anyone here got Amazon Echo Plus, Alexa?
05/04/2018 08:47:24

Hi Martin,

I use the Google Home Mini, cost me £34.00 on offer and it is wonderful. I use it on a daily basis! It helps that I also have Spotify, the music player, and they work wonderfully together. You can ask to play music (Hey Google, play music) and she will pick up from where you left off, or you can be more specific and ask to play a specific play list, song, artist or even radio station. As well as ask questions, such as the other day I had one hand covered in glue and the other holding some pieces of wood together, I asked what time my local B&M closed I instantly had the reply without having to stop what I was doing!

So in my opinion, well worth the money, especially for a music lover.

Hope this helps,

All the best,

Tony

Thread: Warco GH1236 vs Chester Crusader
16/10/2017 10:54:33

Morning, I will have a Crusader Deluxe with me at the Midlands show in a couple of days, and I am sure Warco will have their variant with them as well, so a good chance to compare both machines in the same place at the same time!

All the best,

Tony

Thank you for your feedback, unfortunately as we have expanded into certain areas we have set up agency agreements through different business's and on occasion this will include a clause that we will not sell directly into a particular area, as in this case.

However, anyone and everyone is welcome to call into our showroom at any time we are Open, and especially during our Open Weeks, of which I have regular visitors from Ireland who take the opportunity to go to the auctions in Manchester and visit us on the way back to the ferry to pick up their items!

I do remember a conversation with a chap some time ago about an older rotary table which was purchased from us about 10 years, or so, ago! and unfortunately we could not offer any help, which does happen from time to time.

I would like to think that most people would not judge us quite so harshly under similar circumstance! as I do my very best to try and keep everybody happy and help whomever I can, whether they are a customer of ours or not.

Please bear this in mind for any future dealings.

We have set up a customer service department, who are here should you have reason to complain about our staff, products or service. You are more than welcome to send an email through to [email protected] and address to Andrew Clarke.

All the best,

Tony

Thread: Chester Super lux
04/05/2017 11:39:07

Hi Simon,

Not sure where you are in the world, but we will be at the Doncaster Show next week and I will be taking both the 626 and Superlux, so if you wanted to do a hands on comparison you are more than welcome, you may even be lucky enough to bump into one of the many people who I know attend the show that have these machines!

(Obviously you can come along to our showroom at anytime!)

I hope this helps,

All the best,

Tony (Chester Machine Tools)

Thread: Warco vs Chester
20/01/2017 10:37:09

Hi Michael,

As we have manuals for the majority of our machines on our own forum, making a link from the each machine description page shouldn't be too much of a stretch, I will get our IT people on it.

Thank you for the suggestion.

Kind regards,

Tony

In response to Petro1head and your initial post

My colleague Mark has shown me the emails he has sent to you yesterday and the first one was indeed very short and I understand your frustration in a poor response, But you have not mentioned that he also sent you another email shortly after with a full quotation for the 626 with DRO and Powerfeed fitted!

If you have not received this we would be happy to re-send to you!

As to any other complaints etc:

We are currently in the process of setting up a Customer Care Department at Chester to hopefully resolve these issues before they escalate, so if anybody would like to raise a complaint you are invited to email directly to [email protected] this will go to a chap called Andrew Clarke, he will then be responsible for finding a full resolution to your complaint and making certain that you are kept informed of exactly what has happened and what will happen to resolve.

I hope from this will offer some comfort to those people who have had issue with our service, that we are actively trying to make our customer care work properly!

And as always you are more than welcome to contact myself directly with any other questions or concerns.

Kind regards,

Tony

Thread: Chester let me down Again
16/06/2016 11:10:51

Thank you Michael,

Very much appreciated.

You have my contact information should you have any questions.

All the best.

First things first, I would like to offer a massive apology to Michael for this huge let down on TWO separate occassions by ourselves. This is not how we like to do business and the unfortunate circumstances around this would sound like feable excuses so I will not go into to much detail, except to say the problem was down to a faulty side lifting fork lift in our warehouse used to get the machines, and not the fault of any delivery company.

As soon as we where aware there would be an issue we did, as Michael has said, contact to advise.

Unfortunately the Saturday this was slightly out of my control, again I'm not making excuses as we are the ones at the end of the day who have taken the money, but some times these things do happen. It is more unfortunate that one person has suffered twice for the same machine delivery.

I look forward to speaking directly with Michael to get this resolved to his satisfaction.

Kind regards,

Tony

Hi. Just reading through your post. I will be more than happy to supply you a couple of new sets of brushes, they do come complete and ready to use, it doesn't happen very often but now and again you can get one imperfect one that crumbles causing it to wear very quickly, I think this might be the case here. Luckily lots of helpful people on here to offer advice. Please send be a pm with your full name and postcode and I will get these sent on Monday.
All the best.

Thread: Chester Power Feed
04/02/2015 12:24:55

In response to the original post,

We do regularly get these questions about power feeds and as these units will fit many different machines often there is a requirement to modify or manufacture an additional part, whether it be a shaft or a bush.

We do our best to explain this at the point of sale, however, this is not always possible when it is ordered over the internet.

Of course any customer who is not happy with a product, or the description of the item may be construed as misleading, we will offer to refund in full or replace with a different item.

However offering this service is dependent on the customer being able to communicate this with our staff without hanging up the phone mid-conversation!

I will not enter in a convoluted back and too about our customer service, unfortunately we cannot please everybody! However hard we try.

So if you would like to get back in touch with our staff or myself directly, I will be more than happy to get this sorted for you.

All the best,

Tony.

Thread: Which Chester mini lathe/mill is this?
11/12/2014 09:54:01

Hi Colin,

Very busy few weeks here at Chester UK, so only just got around to reading the forum.

We would be very grateful if you took the time to do this, all you need to do is put a brief description in with your "fine tuned!" manual to say that you have done this yourself and any body using it should bear this in mind.

We do still have a select amount of parts for these machines on the shelf and obviously accessories are not a problem. Any questions just let me know.

All the best.

Tony

Thread: Chester Machine tools - blood from a stone?
29/01/2014 13:01:15

I would like to be the first to respond to this one for you with a brief apology.

Due to staff Holiday's and illness we are short staffed at the moment, this has really slowed down searching for none standard items. Plus responding to emails has also been effected as we are extremely busy on the phones and in the showroom.

This is obviously no excuse for poor service, and I'm sure you will have responses from other users who may have had a bad experience.

I can assure you that as soon as we have the draw bars in front of us we will come back to you with the dimensions of the ones we have which will fit your machine.

As to the items which are on special offer that you are looking to purchase, if once your draw bars are sorted you still want to purchase them from us, I will personally make sure you receive them at the special offer price.

Although you haven't had a proper response yet, I hope this will assure you that someone is doing something!

Kind Regards

Tony
