Thread: Viceroy 280 VS Inverter |

Can anyone tell me if the left hand part is likely to be a transformer 400v to 230v? I think it is but no labelling. If it is I can sort the wiring easily but just worried in case it a voltage drop lower that 230v
thanks

Hi I've swapped an IMO Jaguar CUB5A-1 from my old Viceroy lathe to this one, I bought the kit originally and really don't remember setting it up, in fact the company I bought it off may have supplied it set up with the pendant already fitted. My question is how do I power the 3 phase board that works the other stuff on the lathe like the tacho, pump, E stop & safety switches etc. Can it be wired somehow to the inverter or would I have to get another? I've taken some photos and will try to upload them thanks in advance Allan

Does anyone know how tight to do the bottom collet/ nut? the one with the grub screw, cheers |

I watched that video and a few more, the spindle was easy to remove but the Allen bolt which holds the top of the quill stop had to be removed which I had seen on another video as it was stopping the spindle coming out. also the big nut was left hand thread. Once out I knocked the shaft through all the bearings and spacers together with a nylon hammer, came out easy but will be using the press to re-install. Allan |

Thanks for your comments, I'll go with the SKF 7207 BEP's then, What grease should I use, might as well order some while I'm at it.

Hi I need to replace my spindle bearings on my Bridgeport (clone) mill, the bearings that have come out are SKF 7207 B, there's an A opposite, 72mm X 35mm X 17mm. I've looked these up and there seems to be lots of different variations? any help would be much appreciated. many thanks Allan

Hi John & Neil 108 teeth for sure! Wow, didn't expect the offer to make one, would love to see that on You Tube! I'm willing to pay obviously. I don't have anything to measure the degree angle at work but have put marker pen on it and rolled it out, I will measure it later. Thanks for all your help and comments Allan |

I've spent some time looking at the Align gears and they seem to be 107 teeth and the hole is larger. |

Thanks for the rapid replies! @Neil - it's the gears that have stripped @Ted - I sent them over some details and gave a rough quote of £100 for a blank & £140 - £160 with milling. I do have a dividing head that I bought from Axminster a few years ago but would have to study on how to use it and to work out what the pitch DP etc etc.

Have you looked in the bottom of the cover as they often pack a spare gear there ? Edited By John Stevenson on 11/02/2015 14:46:22
The covers were missing from the drives unfortunately.
