Thanks all who replied, found a fix. I changed the sign in box to, 'not sign in' and the contacts list appeared again. |
26/02/2023 08:16:57 |
Went to send an email this morning and went to the contacts, and lo and behold it is empty! Zilch, nothing, where have they gone? I do not have a copy. I am raking through bits of paper I save to find emaill addies as hest I can. I did not do anything there like deleting or anything like that, I have always thought that list would be safe. No sign of any virus , nothing. |
Thread: Microsft 'Edge' |
21/02/2023 21:53:44 |
SOD, My PC did the same so I installed Ccleaner and about every week or so I do a clean, some times it finds up to 3000 items of Adware! It will also clean up the registry and the programme is free for use. |

Not a diversion, but what Win 10 gets up to to screw up the works. My digital fcamea a Panasonic TZ3, more than adequate for my needs. I have not downloaded any pics. since Win 10 replaced Win 7. damn, what a kerfuffle it was to get the download into the PC. It has taken me nearly 2 hours to get it to latch and download in a completely alien fashion. The format convoluted in the Microsoft way. Bah! |

Hello Bill, that is what I have done but this Edge and Bing are just a waste of time and not wanted. The friend in OZ says it plays havoc with his email . |
18/02/2023 21:51:36 |
Microsoft Edge is becoming a nuisance to my PC, I use Chrome search engine but now and again Edge breaks in and tries to take over. There was an Edge upgrade a few days back and since then it is worse. I sit possible to get rid of Edge? I have a friend in Australia who is experiencing much the same thing. |
Thread: stainless steel valves in cast iron guide |
17/02/2023 14:53:15 |
I have owned Opel cars and they had rubber cups that fitted the valve stem and covered the valve guide. They stopped oil leaking into the guide, very effective. Also supplied in top overhaul kits. I would suggest ream a further Thou out of the guide. It does seem an odd combination of materiels though. Edited By Clive Hartland on 17/02/2023 14:55:13 |
Thread: Multifix |
12/02/2023 21:56:57 |

Thread: Your memories of Live Steam please. |
23/01/2023 14:31:18 |
Coming home from the Saturday morning pictures meant crossing the railway, if the gates were shut it was over the footbridge. This is where the target practice came in, to wait for the steam train and throw an apple core down the chimney but the drivers were on it and opened the blast nozzle so we were enveloped in steam. I often wondered if they opened the front and found apple cores in there. |
Thread: Battery Technology |
14/01/2023 08:43:42 |
Reported a few days back, Sweden has discovered a goldmine of rare earth deposits. Enough to cut China out of the European requirements. |
Thread: Anyone got a Rhubarb clump still going? |
14/01/2023 08:39:14 |
We have a clump in the orchard but the slugs and snails get at it. Of interest they like soot dug around the clump, I think that is hard to come by now. |
