I have a silver line sharpener for small drills.but would like to learn the art of hand sharpening.i have been told too make a jig to hold the drill at 61 degrees this should make it easy to get a good cutting angle. Regards Robin |

I have no ide but it looks a good riveted repair.cast iron is a hard material to repair so it was a good easy to do repair. |

I have yet to visit the amberly museum.my late uncle worked as a spitfire and hurricane engineer during the war and I made a few bits on his old dalton lathe he purchased in a military surplus auction after the war along with the ex radar equipment which I later my my first telivision out of at the age of 12.i will later join a club but am reading the begginers lathe by turbul cain. |

I purchased one of these a few years ago.the face shield was not much cop and I bought a light activated one from Amazon.it does overheat in summer but I have overcome the problem by cutting a bathroom fan to it to coil it down a bit. Regards Robin |

That' sounds I interesting.i have a few bound cops of 1939 and 1940 model engineer magazine wit articles in them from our soldiers overseas making small engines growth basic tools and materials.and another article about arp warden making a trolley from pram wheels to transport his gas bottles on his bycycle. |

Old mart it could be a pye 3023 butpyeand Phillip's did early auto tune radios with Bowden cable controls and gears .no dobt using some of there sometimes over engineered designs they used in the war.i have a pultra lathe which makes a few bits and peices.
