Unfortunately the lathe has taken a battering in the school. A lot ripped out in the back panel andother missing bits.

Hi from Ireland.

I am retrofitting an old ex school Emco compact 5 CNC lathe. It has the original 3 jaw Emco 80mm chuck but with only 1 jaw.

Can anyone help me source replacement jaws and spindle motor and vfd.

Also can anyone recommend a replacement half horse 3 phase spindle motor and vfd.

I have the new controls and steppers fitted too.

Thanks in advance

Thanks for your advice.

Looking for a set of plans to build a 3 in 1 metal worker and purchasing a band saw.

Hi all,

I hope you are keeping well.

Can anyone advice on purchasing a small bench saw that can cut brass and aluminium for model making.

The blade capacity should be 4 inch or thereabouts.

Also is there tooling for small high speed milling and cutting below a 2mm cutter , manual and small cnc units.

I have a Myford Super 7 with gearbox and I fittedr an Allendale DRO and I also have a manual Quantum Mill.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Thanks in advance

Michael from Kildare here.

I bought a Optimum bf 20l mill from Millenium machinery in Athlone , €2000 , and it is a great little mill , I also purchased the Allendale Dro kit for a mill although €500 + it is worth it

I also have a Myford Super 7 with the Allendale Dro and a drive converter which is ideal for the hobby

I buy in all types of machinery from the UK and a pallet from inside Manchester/Birmingham/Bristol is about €200

The other side of that line is twice that

All the electrics at the back are torn out and damaged and the front buttons panel is in a bad way.

I was hoping to fit new steppers through an appropriate motherboard and power supply through a suitable pc / laptop

I hope this is possible

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately due to a lot of damage and missing parts for the Emco I need a lot of new bits so I want to do it as a cnc. Any help sourcing the parts is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Has anyone attempted this sucessfully and can you give me any advice please.
