Neil NOT in Firefox which is preferred browser. I now agree Firefox MAY be part of the issue but not altogether as all other browsers used insisted the latest Flash Player is used therefore the server is demanding an upgrade refusing to use earlier versions. But as stated I haven't had Flash on my machines for some time and still been able to view the mags in the past.
Can't figure that one out either. BUT I could open Jason's link which is suppose to use Flash? I had not installed Flash at that stage either and I can read all other materials via apps which I am told also uses Flash.

I'd like to say thanks for all the advice and hints etc some of which I had tried prior 1st post and although I am reluctant to use any other browser including Chrome which I have found to be the worst yet for security.

I suppose when the background operating system is born from the waste bin of IBM what can one expect. i wish I had continued using Lunix when it first came out Mandrake was so cool back then.

So the server has been updated to latest Flash Player? It then asks us to update but somehow Firefox isn't allowing that to come through I wonder if that means Firefox knows something others don't and halts it in its tracks?

Oh well There goes another Digital subscriber only Printed for me from now on its not worth the hassle or the additional $$$.

Thats right Jason but I have not loaded up Flash Player for two years across the whole spectrum. Flash Player is well known to be troublesome full of holes.
I am surprised such as Mytime media and Pocket mags are even still using it. I've known of Flashes problems for over 10 years. Maybe its just cheap and easy to use so those in the background take the easy road without considering the out comes or caring. Bit like Microsoft and its life time of Blue screens over the years.

If you mean the forum digital archive of bot ME & MEW accessible only via the forum yes thats the one. Yes and we pay via the Digital subscription to access that only with the digital subscription the main reason for taking that form of subscription as well as printed. You do not get access to he forums archive digital section under Print Only.

Yes thats right no Flash Player and I was gaining access to the forum only archives of both magazines no hassles.

Our magazines are indeed hosted via Magzter as well, although subscribing this way does not enable access to the archive. It is also the same model as Pocketmags I believe, as it downloads to their reader, much the same as Pocketmags. Their customer care is very much separate to ours as they are essentially just a third party reseller, so I am not aware of whether their updates have caused any problems for readers.

I am working on an alternative solution to enable you to access to the issues without these ongoing issues, as well as trying to resolve the problems with our app supplier; I can assure you, the company is not looking to steal anything from subscribers; this is simply a case of a third party's technology letting us down. Regarding the Archive problems, I have asked my IT contact if he has any idea why your issues are not loading. Do you know which issues specifically you were having trouble with?

Frances thanks I've known of the demise of Flash for years and I am surprised companies have not headed the warnings of it security breaches and sort better quality software/add on's etc.

It is also the reason I removed it and had no problem viewing the files I am trying to get to now even with the latest installed Player and still no luck.

I've delved deeper opening up the Page Info in Firefox to find in the background It has been blocked "Not my doing"

I have altered 2 check boxes allowing "Add On Installs" & "Run Adobe Flash" I am doing re-start to see if this fixes the problem. There is no choice to do this within Firefoxes Add Ons.

Jason please go back through my posts and read them. i have already stated I tried Microsofts Edge it responded with "I needed to download the latest Adobe Flash Player"!!
I did that and still it didn't work. However this morning on re-downloading it in Edge it has worked and I gained access to the mags.

I have now downloaded Flash Player 3 times turned everything to ON in Firefox and still it doesn't work.

My problem is within and between the server mys machine & Firefox and obviously now Flash Player and Firefox.

I will not use one a perm basis Microsoft browsers OR Chrome security is lacking greatly in both.

As I had stated earlier I had not had Flash player installed for some 2+ years on my PC and had no trouble viewing the forums digital archive. Go figure that one.

I stated earlier in this thread I had not been even using Flash and had not trouble accessing archives of the forum digital type. The explinations in the other thread indicate well that it is a response between both server and user which even I know can be corrupted anywhere between. This can also be the server cache not just user cache.

The proof of this is the fact we both can/could get as far as front covers yet get error message when trying to open each file. The server see is responding with the error message or something between.

I do not see any resolve for the other Raymond in the other thread as he didn't come back and say he had success in getting through???

I find this very strange that so many are blaming Flash when for two years I've been able to view the archive yet have not had Flash installed until recently. As per my problem I posted **LINK**

Thanks Jason I do have addblocker it has never caused a problem in the years I've been a subscriber.

There is No add's that should cause addblocker to cause a problem.

Still to all i'd like to say thanks for their in put and advice and for what both Jason & Neil have tried to do and come back with.

If you bothered to read my post of frustration about the Pocketmags & Mytime media reader updates this problem compounded it.

I know of no other organisaton where you use one sign in for the same thing through 6 companies do you 2 of wwhich OUR sign in are used by 2 companies we do not even deal with they being the company who prints the magas and the one who distributes for the main bodies?

Jason & Neil can both log into my account WOW not bad eh and they can view any magazine they wish again WOW. That is not me using my hardware or my software talking to the server at HQ!!!!

I in the past have never required Flash to view the magazines before. I did go onto Pocketmags this morning prior visiting the Dr and low and behold no problem view my subscribed magazines.

I just opened Microsofts Edge signed in went to Mag archives clicked on mags and got a message I required to load up Adobe Flash. So came back to Firefox my prefered browser you know the one I am having the response from ( I should say no response from). I installed the latest Adobe Flash and low and behold still the same error message even after closing down and restarting Firefox just to make sure it was fully installed and yes I click the check box to ON in Flash.

I know as a past Techie that MY machine will not issue me such a response of Error as shown above that has to be a server error. I agree the ping maybe be defective somewhere between. BUT why can i read and view any other magazines NOT connected with Mytimemedia??

As for Addblockers there is no adds and its never caused problems in many years prior.

Could it be that due to the subscription extension OR Pocketmags updates to readers and tweaking of sign in's?? at the coal face ON the server??

Is it possible someone maybe tunneling in when I sign in? Not via my machine (still possible) but hanging about and the server is reconising that intrusion?

As I can sign into forum no hassle and bring up archives and view front covers meaning the server is allowing me access thus far?? BUT the decides due to some unknown visual by myself shoots off an error code??

Why would any ISP block such as Model Engineer or MEW at that point and shoot me an error code? I have no problem with any other site, content or sign in??

Have the in house technicians been brought into see if there is a problem at that end?? Guess not but then why would they have been?? One customer is not worthy of investigation.

Lets blame the customer or their isp or software heard it all before and yes even from Mytimemedia and Neil and Jason and even Pocketmags.

You see with 6 companies who have our sign in it could be a problem caused by any number or all of them or their systems!!!!!

To stand out as I do seems to be away of life it made me quite good at solving problems and seeing faults long before others could or would. It saved others from injury and death. Or fro tearing their hair out.

Jason yeh just my luck eh or is it people just hadenough of attitued when making such announcements. I'm so glad I have not taken out 2 other subscriptions with mytimemedia of woodwork magazines and lost further money and time.

My access to digital archives is NILL I can get to both ME & MEW but to try read there is an error of connecting through to each and every individual mag.
