Speedy builder 5 your morph is very similar to dragon arum which seem to grow like weeds in my garden and when flowering they stink to high heaven .

Any chance of using a skiving tool as they will take off tenths, which you can do quite successfully if you compound is set to 5.5deg or so which will give you a ten to one ratio of bed travel to infeed.

Which Myford and which crosslide?

If you set your compound slide to approx 5.75 degs it will give you a tenth cut for every div.

Try the spark test on your bench grinder

I think as most people are saying that 33/34 tooth gears should cover most of what you should need

Im afraid that using a microscope for looking at tool tips will have you chasing your tail.!

The part that say open?close is adjustable for size of square on tap ,front chuck holds tap central.The way I use mine is to fit tap in outer chuck jaws as a sliding fit then slide tap to the rear and adjust rear jaws to clamp square on tap, tighten front jaws and you are good to go.
