Thread: UNIMAT SL 1000
22/12/2020 16:11:20

Hello,

In the last issue of MEW ( N° 299 December 2020) Terry Gorin describes some interesting die holder for the small UNIMAT SL 1000.

Few years ago few articles were published about improvements for this lathe but I cannot find them due to destuction of part of my collection of MEW .

Does somebody can remenber the issues n° in which they were published ?

As I have now time to return to my favourite hobby this seems a nice project to modify my UNIMAT sleeping on the shelf ....

Thank your for your help and keep safe in this strange period !

To Thor,Hopper, Jason and Ron,

I thank you all the fellows who respond to my querry ( I'm a bit lazy to answer to each of you, the temperature is nearly 39 ° C outside ………&hellip.

Now lets strart to make a crankshaft from the solid. I tthink it is a similar procedure ( work instruction) for a twin cylinder ?

I 'll post the results of the "disaster" I can produce ! (just a joke).

Cheers…

Hi,

I'd like to make a small internal combustion engine but my problem is how to machine the crankshaft ?

I have a small lathe from Warco and a small milling machine from the same supplier.

I already made steam engines and a small steam loco in 45 mm.

Thank you for your advices.

Hi to All MEs,

I'm in need of a building stand for my Sweet Pea.

Few years (months) ago I read a very interesting article in Model Engineer about the subject.

Impossible to remember in which issue as I'm far away from my Library.

Is someone can help?

Thanks in advance.

A simple question (?). May be of some interest to all of us!
How to pepare a brass part to be painted.
What kind of surface preparation before coating,
What kind of primer to use ? ? ?

Thank you for your kind reply
