David,

I too can now get access to the back issues.

Thanks for getting this sorted out quickly.

David,

To help with the fixing process.....

When I took out the additional subscription for access to the archive, I got an email through similar to that when I originally took out my subscriptions for the paper versions of ME and MEW and this gave me a subscription number, which was in fact identical to my existing number.  Entering that into my details pane was the first thing I did and as you saw, I am unable to access the MEW back issues earlier than 122.

One interesting thing was although the email talked about the electronic archive it seemed to indicate that I would be receiving copies from a date in February.  Below is a copy of that part of the email.

David,

It is just the case that I am unable at the moment to access the MEW back issues past no. 122.  Thanks for your help with this and I await your response/fix.

David,

I am having the same issue as Anthony.  I have taken out the additional subscription and have entered the subscription number into my account details, but can at this stage only see MEW back issues as far back as no. 122.

Thread: Beginners start here in Model Engineer
18/11/2009 12:07:03
David,

I'm a beginner, and have been following your articles on the Stuart 10V engine as I am building this as my first project.  I also have the book "Building a Vertical Steam Engine" book by Andrew Smith covering the build.  This covers the build using a lathe only.  At present I am adopting the approach for each element I feel most comfortable with from either your articles or the book.  In some instances, using only a lathe and in others using a mill.  As a beginner in this hobby I find your articles set just at the right level.
