Thread: Where to sell machine tools

Whatever method you use, I reckon you should get some price guidelines before embarking on this process (assuming you have not already done so).
Thread: ED Racer 'times two'

This reminds me, I have an old ED 2cc Competition Special with prop driver section broken off the crankshaft. You might have just inspired to me restore it.

Very impressed with your work so far.

Not planetary motion as well then?
15/02/2010 14:02:32
bit of luck you wont be around when it goes out then.

Too right Roy, I can't stand cold conditions!
Just noticed my post says Prepetual not perpetual, shame we cannot edit later.

Keil Craft aircraft, yes I spent a lot of my youth making them as well.

Just to be a bit controversial, how about the following:-
Prepetual motion does already exist and we live on a supreme example of that fact, (planet earth)
Our sun also appears to be a perpetual power source.

I think if my wife saw the bath being made oily, getting tied to the taps would be the least of my worries!

I think that theories about perpetual motion will re-occur as long as mankind exists.

Thread: Turbine Blades
11/02/2010 19:10:28

This may seem a bit off centre, but is there anything on the Gas Turbine Builders Association website which might help?
I saw some of their very impressive models at Ally Pally.

Regards.

I have just looked at this for the first time, the text seems very small and if I try enlarging it things just become pixelated and fuzzy.
Thread: Student in need of help!

There is a company that shows laser cutting at ME exhibitions, but I think it's in Doncaster.
Might be worth you looking at their website though.

Thread: Crompton Parkinson Motor Bearings
22/01/2010 15:47:24
If you have a motor rewinding company in your area it might be worth asking them about spares.
Not dealt  with his type of company for many years, but this was fairly routine stuff to them then.

The following may be teaching granny to suck eggs, if so I apologise:-
Is the shaft really good? we saw new bearings fail quickly if this had been missed.

Gentlemen.

I discussed the matter of using the domestic oven for engineering purposes with the leadership many years ago.

After lengthy negotiations the following official edict was issued:-

'You are not putting your mucky engineering stuff in the oven, we cook our food in there'.

This advice is still the official view, and disobeying it is done entirely at my own risk!

Hi.
Guess I'm lucky, mine goes out with a long time friend at least once a month, thats 6 hours (minimum) entirely to do whatever suits me!
I am of course entirely happy with that arrangement, and even enquire what sort of a day they had, listening politely to the answers, of course this tends to distract.attention away from my own activities but if she asks the answer 'just doing odd things in the workshop' seems to be ok.

I find that using the domestic oven for engineering purposes is best done when the authority is out for the day!
Remember not to leave oily marks on it, put nothing nasty or smelly in, and last of all make sure it cools down before they get home (unless you've cooked dinner afterwards).

Lessons in domestic bliss are best learnt very early.
