Any advice on touching up a 'bike frame so the new paint blends in with the original 50+ year old black stove enamel finish.

Thread: Fitting Ikea Kitchen Units - Me workshop wall is on the way. |
01/11/2016 21:11:51 |
Our daughter had an Ikea kitchen fitted. Very pleased until the mice appeared. No fault of Ikea or the fitters as she did not know to get the wall/floor joint totally sealed. The plumbers had opened the floor to route pipework and cut holes twice the dia of the pipes. Again no sealing attempted. Most kitchens have a plinth around 150/200mm in height. Her one is around 100mm. It was a nightmare trying to effect anything like a cure. My advice is to seal everything first before fitting any unit. |

When checking out policy price, also check out the company's attitude to paying out on claims. Some years ago my wife lost an expensive ring when out walking. Reported it to the police in case it was found and handed in, was given a crime number, contacted our insurers and inside 10 days was able to go to any jeweller with the necessary paperwork to get a replacement. |

Rodney Kinnaird built a racing 4 in the late 60's. In this you tube clip you can enjoy the scene/noise as he fires it up. And his unique method of disengaging the starter belt. What would the health and safety people have to say! Edited By JimmieS on 22/08/2016 21:44:22 |

The 'Buzzing Club' - National Autocycle and Cyclemotor Club - is a nationwide club specialising in Cyclemotors, Autocycles, Mopeds and Small Motorbikes. Instead of a C90 why not locate a set of unmachined castings and produce your own cyclemotor. Plans and advice in the 1940's Model Engineer magazines. Or even print your own 3D patterns! Jim

Thread: How to Block Draught from Kitchen Extractor Hood |
20/02/2016 10:22:23 |
Had the same problem which I over came by using a thin piece of rigid plastic slightly larger than the kitchen side extractor grid, attaching thin magnets as needed around the edge and draught excluded tape to seal between the magnets. Handle in centre. Works well but needs to be removed and replaced before and after use. Of course only works on a metal faced unit. |
