Thread: Globe valve castings |

Many thanks for your informative reply,I will have to have a go at makingthem.
I am building Hainings 2" scale Ruston Light Steam Tractor, have been doing it for last 8 years on or off & have reached the stage of the boiler fittings before I can steam it up. It runs ok on air. I am considering firing it with a gas burner, something like a Gaz camping stove burner. Any ideas on this??

Can anyone advise where I would be able to obtain castings ii gunmetal/bronze for miniature globe valves ? they are too expensive to buy these valves ready made so I would like to have a go at making my own. The body shape ie the problem in fabricating them. They are wanted for a 2" scale traction engine I am trying to get finished. |
