Thread: Issue 78 Missing |
06/01/2010 13:07:10 |
Where is issue 78 in the MEW digital archives?
There is still a lot of problems with these digital issues, the pages are in the wrong order, ie the contents page is often in the middle of the issue, are these problems likely to be addressed?
It looks like they need to be rescanned and properly formatted!
thanks

Thread: Missing pages from back issues of Model Engineer |
20/12/2009 13:33:14 |
David
I have also found a similar problem with the earlier issues of the digital magazine.
This is just an example of issue 8, ALL of the early issues are similar.
The issue 8 starts at page 10, then follows on to 18, 19 & 20 are missing completely, then goes to 21, then consecutively to29,then to 3, then to 31 etc.
I would not mind if these were free copies, I could put up withit, but to charge an annual subscription is completely out of order. The copies should have been scanned and proof read prior to publishing them.
I really hope the management is going to rectify these problems.
Yours

Thread: New MEW Digital archive - access? |
17/12/2009 16:52:13 |
David
I subscribe to the paper issues of MEW and am registeredon the web site.
Does one still have to subscribe "again" to view the digital issues?
I can still view the past issues but only upto issue 122 as previously.
Thanks

Thread: Digital editions of Model Engineer and Model Engineers' Workshop. |

I was very surprised to find issue 156 (Nov. 09) in the back issue section as I havn't even received my paper copy yet (Ilive in Spain).
I don't know what is going on with the subscriptions at the moment, I have had to write in twice so far this year to report missing issues, but must admit after reporting, replacements were sent..
On a further note.... I would love to see earlier issues published online to issue 122, I was particularly looking for issue 113 for an article referred to in a later issue.
Thanks
Gordon
PS issue 155 was received on 3rd September.

I have been following the series in MEW "First Steps in £D Design" in the above magazine.
As it is a free download, it looks promising.
One thing I can't fathom out is if it is possible to produce a 2D Engineering drawing that we are all used to, or is the program only for 3D rendering?
Maybe Linton Wedlock can answer this if he is reading it?
I have been evaluating the free trial of Alibre's product "Alibre Design Xpress" and find it very easy to use, its normall priced at $999, now available for $99, seems a good deal to me, they are selling it off cheap as they are about to bring out a newer version (V12, this is V11.2).
What are other readers opinions?
Than ks a lot
