Thread: Un-split, split die |

I think split means adjustable for cutting a thread and unsplit is used for cleaning up a damaged thread. |
Thread: SCAM WARNING - TAKE CARE SELLING BY CLASSIFIEDS |
18/11/2015 13:20:56 |
I get many invoices that I do not open. Even if I am expecting this sort of email I check it with Norton if I think it might be genuine. Not found a genuine one yet. I also had an email from Lancashire police about an invoice. I checked it out as I am paying a speeding fine then realised it would be from Lincolnshire police not Lancashire. It looked exactly the same as a genuine police email and was from a genuine officer. |

Also, beware of people asking you to pay by PayPal if you are buying something and they ask you to send money as a gift so they can avoid PayPal fees. A gift payment cannot be returned or claimed on PayPal insurance. |
Thread: What is the most useful workshop tool that you have made? |
18/11/2015 10:05:09 |
Hi Bricky I never found it. Try submitting it again. I passed all articles to Neil and Diane and never saw that one. If it was as good as you said, I am sure I would have used it. |
Thread: Scroll Saw |

There is a Delta on EBay, £9.99 at the moment. Collect from London area but most sellers will pack for a courier. |

Do you mean other moderators want that particular thread on the site? |
Thread: Details for 48ft clerestory underframe |
17/11/2015 16:13:37 |
Yes, there appeared to be information available but I struggle to copy links on an IPad. Try searching as suggested above. Seem to be quite a few links including color photos and I think drawings at NRM. |
Thread: A couple of engines to identify |
17/11/2015 15:12:47 |
So, has anyone got the catalogue page from prior to 1932 with this engine on it that they can post here? Or better still a copy of the drawings. Should not be too difficult to recreate one by fabricating the cylinder support and column. It would be outside the copyright date so permissible to publish it. |
Thread: Use By/ Best Before Dates |
17/11/2015 15:08:17 |
Thank You John A bit of common sense goes a long way and does not get out of date. |
Thread: Scroll Saw |
17/11/2015 15:05:34 |
Have a look on EBay. I purchased a RadioSpares one which had RS on the cover plate for £30. This was a badged quality American Delta scroll saw. Whichever one you go for do a search for the name of the saw and problems. |

I think the use by/ best before thread should have been deleted by a moderator as soon as it was started. This is the sort of thing that spoils the forum. |

Hello Michael Gilligan I put a search facility on the home page. It is still there and I believe I set it up to search the whole site rather than the titles. Yes, the title of the thread is most important. I have started using latest posts to look at recent threads. Far more convenient than the latest post list on the right. |
Thread: What is a dot punch? |
17/11/2015 11:42:05 |
Perhaps English use dots and Americans use pricks for the same thing? Edited By David Clark 1 on 17/11/2015 12:02:12 Edited By JasonB on 17/11/2015 17:45:31 |

Have you tried googling Midland Railway 48ft clerestory coach? Lots of references online. |

Anything that requires modification to the forum software is unlikely to happen. The current system is working fine, it just lacks some fine tuning. |
Thread: Details for 48ft clerestory underframe |

There are plenty of online indexes for model railway magazines. I would think ModelRailway Constructor or Railway Modeller would be your best bet. |
Thread: Build threads. |
16/11/2015 17:55:14 |
Hi John W1 You are misunderstanding me. The suggestion was a thread comprised of links to build threads. There would be no need to comment as all that would be on the thread would be a link to each build thread. Premoderated so only build thread links could be posted. No comments would be required. |
Thread: A couple of engines to identify |
16/11/2015 16:51:11 |
The early No 10V used a similar construction to the No 1 but was the much smaller No 10 size of engine. I saw a set of castings for this engine on EBay a few months back. |
Thread: Build threads. |
16/11/2015 16:48:06 |
Hi JasonB A premoderated thread with just a link to each build thread as they were started would be ideal. No members posting other than initial notification of a new build thread and no comments. This would enable members to read through and follow each build that is relevant to their interests. |
16/11/2015 11:00:26 |
Perhaps it would pay to add a build thread index to this forum. It could be a simple premoderated thread that members could add their build threads to so that all build threads could be accesed from one thread. |
