Thanks John P, much appreciated! Thanks also JohnF for the suggestions. I did have find this topic with the member that have made this batch. I have contacted my local suppliers, they don't have any screw with 20X3mm trepezoid. Seriously, its not difficult for me to machine those screws. Thanks for the link to the Fb2 forum. John |

Hello to forum members I am a new member, hope i am in the correct topic to what i need to ask. I am restoring an Emco FB2. I have machined new nuts for the screws from phosporous brass and now i am machining new gibs from cast iron (pics attached) I would like to ask, can any help with the best choice of steel for the lead screws? Something that can give good machinability as also a good wear resistance? Somewhere i read that the 1144 carbon steel is a good choice. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance John |

Hello David Thank you for the welcome. Should i post my questions on the "Manual machine tools" Topic? The previous owner of the FB2 somehow replaced the Y axis trapezoidal screw with a square thread screw. Not the best choice i believe. I have somehow to figure out if i can trust the overal dimensions of this screw to fabricate a trapezoidal one (total length?) Thanks John |

Hello to all forum members. I am new to this forum but not new to the use of machine tools. I have an Emco V11 with a milling attachment and recently purchased an FB2 that needs a lot of work to be back to working order. I have to machine new lead screws nuts and gibs as also a major paint job. Can any one help with an FB2 parts list? I need to see how some things come together correctly. Thanks in advance John from Greece
