Thread: Progress No1 Pillar Drill.

Thanks for the response, Clive. Bit much for me. I'll keep reading.

Thanks for the reply, Vic. I need the dimensions of the original pulley wheel etc.

I have a Progress No1 pillar drill which I bought recently for a project. It was a total mess having been left outside for some time but I decided I'd have it. Parts missing, homemade frame to attach the motor, the motor shaft was very short, incorrect pulley wheel on the motor, wire mesh cover, just in over my head.

I'm near the point where I could use it, but, I need some help.

1: I need a pulley/belt cover.

2: I need the correct motor pulley wheel.

3: I need 3 spoked star wheel/feed wheel handles. (terms used in the manual)

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks for reading.

Thanks for the help, John. Yes, I did read a few posts here before I signed up and went over to Lathes.co.uk. Haven't yet been able to find the info needed, but I'm hoping some Progress owners might be able to fill in the gaps.

I'd rather have an original, and I'm browsing Ebay etc. Mind you I'd consider anything.

Hello. I hope all are well and are eager to help? Well, hello anyway...

I have a Progress No 1 pillar drill that I bought recently as a project, it looked to have been left outside for sometime and was in terrible condition. I could give you a re-run of my progress so far but it would be fairly longwinded, and I'm no expert, but it was a mess. Completely rusted, broken parts, tiny shaft on the motor, incorrect pulley wheel, wire mesh for a cover.

I have some questions that I hope some of you might have the answers to.

1: I need a belt cover. Any ideas?

2: I need to know what the motor pulley wheel dimensions are and where to look for one.

3: I need feedwheel handles/3 spoked star wheel handles (Names used in manual)

Thank you for reading.

PJ.
