I’m looking for some advice from anyone who has fitted a MT2 collet chuck to a Myford ML7 or similar. What solutions have you used when nipping up the bar at the non-workpiece end? I was considering making a push fit plastic bushing to fit into the spindle hole in the gear train cover, in order to protect it, with a washer outboard and a nut on the end of the drawbar. |

Thanks for the welcome - I'm based in Aberdeenshire, and my work takes me throughout northern Scotland. Mainly to dilapidated churches it seems right now... I have a couple of mates who have been answering my newbie Q's, so they are probably relived to share the burden with you folks! |

Evening. I've recently taken on my Dad's Myford ML7 (1952-53), which he bought secondhand and never really used, other than to carry out some simple repairs to the lathe itself. |
