we buy a budget machine put it in a shed then try measuring to .001 with something marked to.01that we have had for years. i think its too much to ask for. perhaps better to say can i make stuff does it work if yes no problem. however if no and .001 mm limits are really needed its time to spend some very large sums of money

the machine shop where i work, works to these limits - million pound machines - tempture controlled workshop - measuring equipment sent away annually to be checked.

yes i have made it. it works, i am happy with the results

my guess is it runs on air or vacuum it reminds me of the vacuum motors fitted to old cars

drill and tap as is. is likely to end in a broken tap when the part you glued in moves or jamming the draw bar when it moves later. only safe way is to drill it oversize fit an insert or sleeve. but is it worth it for a piece of junk the cost you nothing

i too have one of these machines. mine is green and has no name on it i found a manual online for free for a machine with the Sealy name on it. only difference Sealy machine is red.i removed the belt cover switch as it was so badly fitted i toroth it was a previous owners bodge

i use a 1 mm cutting disc. stop just short of the shart then put a blunted chisel in the slot then give it a tap with hammer to crack the bearing race it will then fall off

another thumbs up for the dehumidifier got mine from Machine Mart. drain it daily this time of year. my cheepo hygrometer never moved much but the dampness went and the rust stopped so no idea what it's measuring
