Kind regards,

Doug i have been using the cheap aluminium inserts from China for a while now on small lathes, i find they are a delight to use on most materials. They make such a clean crisp accurate cut with very little tool pressure on the work piece needed, which is what small low powered lathes need.

Morning Martin, do you have a link to the Chinese Aluminium inserts? Pm me if its classed as advertising here.

Thanks!

It's not blocked by chrome, and newer issues of the mag work ok. Not sure really, was just bringing it to your attention.

Thanks

Hi all, not sure if this is the same for everyone but I cant view any of the archived issues from 277 back. I get an Adobe Flash error saying that it isn't up to date but the newer issues work ok.

EDIT: Apparently this is only on Chrome browser. Internet explorer seems to work ok.

I think you have all named everyone I watch.

Watching their videos does however fill me with a sense of ability that I quite clearly don't have yet but practice makes perfect.

Hello Jim and welcome to this wonderful forum. Now that you have the machining capability, what ae you intendng to do with it?

Don't forget, any questions just ask on here.

Brian

Hi Brian,

I have been thinking about doing some spinning tops in brass and stainless.

I think I will get some practice in first though.

Hi everyone, new here.

My names Jim, from Northampton and I currently have a Boxford AUD lathe and a Medddings MF4 drill press.

Been a fan of machining for quite some time but now finally have a change to get into it properly.

Thread: Meddings M4 Spring
15/08/2019 14:55:22

Hi Guys,

I have just refurbished a Meddings MF4 drill press but the quill spring, as is a common thing, is broken.

Meddings would like £30 for a new, old stock replacement. I think this is rather pricey and was wondering if anyone has any experience with the ebay versions and which one I would need to replace my damaged one.

Cheers
