anyone one on here bought the economy engine from the engineers emporium recently

mine turned up last week

the castings are diabolical they don’t even meet size before machining and I know castings very but these are awful full of sand and inclusions

anyone else had this problem and a way round it before I send the lot back

Just received my castings for my economy engine

they all look to bad apart from the water hopper

it looks like I might struggle to clean it up miss match from one side of casting of about 2mm

anyone got any pics of there’s

all the ones I have seen on Internet look far better than mine

The table has tight spots when rotate it with hand wheel disengaged

the shaft the hand wheel is on is bent

the chuck that came with it takes 2 hands to turn chuck key and supplied chuck mounting plate holes only 2 of the 4 line up

and along with nothing been deburred

apart from that it’s ok for a door stop

Just had my warco hv6 rotary table and chuck delivered

am in possess of boxing it up to send back

utter rubbish

anyone on here got an Axminster CQ6230 lathe

having trouble screw cutting

i normally only cut metric threads no problem but today wanted to cut imperial

but come unstuck as looking on chart on machine I don’t have a gear Z or position Z on gearbox

Just finished my bengs hit and miss Karl

cant get it to run

checked timing got spark and loads of compression so much I can hardly spin it past tdc

any suggestions

it’s definitely the column is out

Latest on my warco super major vario

the machine by my company’s maintenance department using there test equipment and the results are and the main column is 5 minutes of angle out

does not sound much but over 300mm that’s .012 mm

warco are coming to fix it Monday

i guess they are going to unbolt the column and shim it, not happy about that but short on options

Well I will know for sure this afternoon

the maintenance guys from where I work are coming this afternoon with all there test equipment to tell me how far it’s out

and before I get comments on how good they are we work for a well known helicopter manufacturer

it’s held in an er32 collet

I bought the mill for making parts for my motorcycles

and yes I have to except it’s not industrial quality but warco claim .0015” on there accuracy reports so I guess someone has not checked correctly

and I would like it to bore holes vertical

and the errors I have the deeper you bore or drill the worse the errors will get

that’s what I saiid table slopes
