I Was given a Relmac Lathe a few years ago, after her father passed away and due to the motor not being wired up or it having belts it has been sat in my garage. Im not sure wether i should buy a new motor or get the run capacitor replaced on the motor i have (which came with the lathe but not entirely sure it is the one for it) I also am not sure about how to set the motor up to run the belt driven lathe. Is there anyone in the Carmarthenshire area that might be able to have a look and give me some suggestions or know of anyone i might be able to take it to. Im not sure how to add images of the lathe. Thanks in advance.

Thanks Guys, Ive ordered the one suggested by Pat Bravery. I am tempted by the keyless chuck steamdave but not going to pay out until this one is unusable. I like it larry phelan 1 though i may just attach one of the high power magnets to it and attach it that way i always get a little concerned about dangly things near moving parts. Thanks Alistair and Brian also. Will let you know if it fits |

My Press drills key went walk about a few months ago and i have tried to find a supplier for the right chuck key but i dont know enough about press drill chucks not to order the wrong thing. It has WUE JT3 16MM on the side of it. The hole where you put the key seems to be about 8mm and the distance from the centre of the hole to the bottom of the teeth seems to be 13mm. Any help would be a blessing. Thanks. |

I am setting up my Blacksmiths shop in the coming year again and have a lathe that i need some help with and a drill chuck key that is defeating me everytime i go online to find one....Look forward to chatting to you all, David |
