Thread: Warco 712 Bandsaw |
06/04/2021 14:32:56 |
I asked for a review of the Warco 712 Bandsaw, perhaps i could have phrased the question better, yes i do want the extra capacity, i was expecting some reasoned comments on the machine not the Vitriol shown by some. In answer to [not done it yet] as regards the throw away society i drive a 28 year old Volvo, had it from new, how many cars have you thrown away in that time. Suggesting that i would pass a dud machine on to an unsuspecting buyer i find quite offensive, don't judge others by your own standards, i could donate it to the local Vicar for slicing cucumber for tea parties. Thank you to those of you who did show some support. Richard |

Hi, Have been watching Mark Preslings U Tube videos of his sand muller build, would like to build one as i'm getting to old and weary to be mixing by hand! any idea where i can obtain the steel tube for the roller, 170mm dia by 160 long as you can see i only need a short length, needs to have a reasonable wall thickness, i live in Oxfordshire near Chipping Norton. Hi Mark, I have yet to make the Graver described in the George Thomas book, he uses a 3/16" sq tool steel set in a holder with wooden handle, so I used a wood turning scraper on this De Winton Loco chimney to try it out. |

Body is from scrap alloy wheels, foot casting ZL12 Zinc alloy, melted in a Myfordboy clone furnace. Sorry about the photos I realise now that they should be landscape. Measurements taken from G H Thomas Model Engineers Workshop Manual.

Hi, Trying to find a supplier of Di3 Backplate for Myford 254s lathe, it has the stud fitting not camlock, the ones that I have looked at Warco etc seem to have a very shallow register. I want to fit a 4 jaw ind chuck, failing that maybe a 4 jaw with D13 fitting. any help would be appreciated. Regards Richard |
