Thread: Compressor - stand on end? |

The reservoir can be mounted however you wish but the compressor needs to be kept the right way up to ensure correct lubrication. |

There is some info available from http://www.lathes.co.uk/wicksteed/ A picture shows "use light hydraulic oil" which doesn't help a great deal does it? [Edit] Been reading a bit from here https://www.crownoil.co.uk/lubricants/all-you-need-to-know-about-hydraulic-oil/ I would suggest an ISO 32 or 46. Thread: I/C Running on gas |
13/05/2018 21:59:24 |
A simple needle valve can be used to regulate the gas flow, that is all that is used for plumbers blowtorches etc. |

Thread: Adeptus Propellus |
05/05/2018 16:03:39 |
Reading a tale from lathes.co.uk there was a fellow who fitted a 1/4hp 1400rpm motor to his Adept, no doubt via countershaft. A larger motor will only give problems if you get a jam-up when working and the motor can overcome your jam. It might be able to cause more damage because of its extra strength. Perhaps make sure that your belt drive runs somewhat slack so that it can slip if it needs to. |

Thread: Rotary brass brushes |
16/04/2018 19:09:34 |
I haven't used these do can't comment but would an abrasive wheel be better than a brush? If you google " hilda rotary brushes " you will get an idea of the range. Dremel do them also but I could only find in the USA. |

If the volts go down then the amps go up to compensate. Start with a new thermostat. |
