Other fire creators can be magnifying mirrors and bullseye glass windows.

Turn the magnet around, north to south poles or the other way, this caught me out when I installed mine last year.

If you overheat the base then the filler will simply run off, the flux has already benn burnt away.

I think that at our age(s) we should be allowed to be an old git if we so wish.

At 70 I feel that if we fail to correct these errors then the youth of today and tomorrow will miss out on the joy of language.

I've recently acquired a new fountain pen and now enjoy, once again, writing letters to friends and family using writing paper and envelopes. I think that they are appreciated by the recipients too.

If you plan to modify it why not make what you want or do you only have a wood lathe?

Shaking itself to death is a known effect of running these models according to lots of various forums; speed control probably fine.

This may be of interest to someone. A friend of mine has 2 tickets in a corporate box for the next England v Belgium game Thur 28th June. He paid £300 each including flights but he didn't realise when he bought them months ago that it was going to be the same day as his wedding!

I'm no expert but I believe it depends of the possible length of clear line available for safety spacings.

Yes, the governor pulley is too high, the belt is wasting energy trying to force the pulley downwards to level the drive line.

If the pulley cannot be lowered then consider making some idler pulleys to raise the drive line.

Are you wanting something to support the shed when it is position or just something to fill in any gaps that there may be between the shed frame and the slabs?

How firmly fixed are the slabs?

The diagram from the motor cover gives you the wire positions as far as I can see.

Red, black, yellow and the cap.

I'm not an expert but as it's timber have the concrete rising above the surrounding area to prevent water pooling around the base timbers.

Too, have the floor joists at the standard building 16" centres, check your tape measure and you will see a mark every 16". This will make finding them easier later on if you want to screw something down.

Looking at lathes.co.uk it seems the M300 did also come with a 230v single phase 1.1kW motor but due to the lower power the usable speeds drop by 50%.

Probably not ideal but have you looked at cast iron casters?

Just been having a quick look around the Loctite website and came across the term "retain".

Their retaining compounds seem to cover usage from loose to interference fits.

I think retain is a good choice because it doesn't imply a non-failing joint that words such secured can do.
