Hello again.. It has 4 pulleys so it is a super 7.

Not only that, looking at the cover for the pulleys, it says "SUPER 7" DOH!!!!! !I have used it to do a bit of practice turning on bits of scrap and it does seem to work fine. There is a box with lots of gears which I am told are for screwcutting , these obviously fix into the gearbox on the lewft hand side of the machine.

I need to buy a book.

I have just acquired a Myford lathe, it is in working order although I dont know if it is aseven or super seven. Whats the difference?

Next I reckon I need to service it . It runs. the motor seems OK and it has a suds pump which works.

It needs a good clean, so to do this obviously I need to dismantle some parts, but before I make any moves in this direction I would welcome any advice from the forum. There is a good selection of tools, an inside and an outside chuck and a four jaw chuck,a couple of faceplates and other bits & pieces

It was a freebie, so I dont mind spending a bit of money on it to refurbish it.

All advice is welcome .
